TAMPA BAY FIELD GUIDE
Tampa Bay dog beaches: where dogs have designated access
Compare Picnic Island, Davis Islands and Fort De Soto, with official sources and a clear distinction between dog parks and dog beaches.
A dog park near a beach is not always a dog beach
Look for an officially designated dog beach and follow its posted boundary signs. The directory identifies these three locations with designated dog-beach access; the label does not establish that they are open today.

Check the exact area before you go
Sand Key has a dog park; this is not permission to bring a dog onto its beach. At Fort De Soto, use only the designated dog beach. Keep dogs leashed outside areas where off-leash access is expressly permitted.
Read each operator’s current notices for access, fees and conditions. An address marker is not a confirmed entrance.
